OPPD is hosting a public meeting concerning the Nebraska City Station Unit Two (NC2) Ash Landfill and OPPD’s assessment of corrective measures for the landfill under the Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) rules. During the meeting, OPPD will discuss data compiled about the landfill and corrective measure options, and will present OPPD’s preferred option, which includes input and recommendations from the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy.

The public meeting will be held online August 25, 2021, at 4 p.m., via Webex. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about data OPPD has collected on the NC2 Ash Landfill and provide input on the preferred remedy.

Question and Comments Process

The public comment period is now closed. OPPD will gather all questions and comments received during the comment period (August 6 - September 7, 2021) on OPPDCommunityConnect.com and during the public meeting on August 25.

Like questions and comments will be grouped. Please note: OPPD will only be responding to comments related to the groundwater issue in relation to the selection of remedy (Other issues of District business should be addressed on their respected project pages and all general questions can be inquired on the Ask Us page.)

Feedback and OPPD responses will be posted as a public comment summary document, published with the final selection of remedy, on this website 30-60 days following the public meeting. To those giving feedback via OPPDCommunityConnect, you must register through the platform so we can inform you when the public comment summary document is available 30-60 days following the public meeting.
