August Update - Segments 2 and 3

Progress continues along Segment 2. OPPD's distribution contractor, Watts, is wrapping up efforts in the western section.

Transmission construction is underway on Segment 3. In addition to structure wreck-out and wire removal, crews were busy constructing a transmission pole foundation near I-680 and Maple St. The foundation has the largest diameter in OPPD's service territory at 14 feet wide and 68 feet deep. It will support the largest style of transmission structure in OPPD's service territory. The structure needs to be so robust because it supports two spans of more than 1,000 feet where the conductor crosses both I-680 and Maple St.
