Our vision to illuminate the future is bright! It’s been quite a year and there are many updates since we last connected about Pathways to Decarbonization, the Integrated Resource Plan and Power with Purpose.

In December 2021, OPPD wrapped up our final Pathways to Decarbonization workshop, which resulted in a study to help achieve our goal of net-zero carbon production by 2050.

Resource planning is an ongoing process at OPPD. Since December 2021, OPPD has submitted its 2021 Integrated Resource Plan with the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), which outlines our utility's generation changes to meet customer demand over time.

Meanwhile, our Power with Purpose initiative has progressed, which will bring additional generation totaling approximately 1,200 megawatts (MW) of natural gas and solar generation capability online. This will help us power our growing communities with reliability and resiliency top of mind - while also continuing our commitment to environmental stewardship.
