We’ve included a Customer pathway in our decarbonization study, focused on enhancing the products and services we offer to our customers to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. OPPD has identified the following objectives for the Customer pathway:
Conduct market analysis, technology exploration, and industry and non-industry benchmarking. This will provide insight to what energy efficiency improvements our customers are most interested in; investigate emerging technology solutions, and identify best practices from successful programs across the United States.
Review OPPD’s internal Product Development and Marketing’s product prioritization framework to ensure decarbonization benefits are considered. Practically this means that as OPPD evaluates the different products and services we can offer our customers, we take into account resulting carbon reduction when deciding which to take to market.
Deliver a product strategy and roadmap to meet both customer and OPPD decarbonization goals, including an acceleration plan.
Ensure tracking and reporting of carbon reduction as a result of implemented products. Doing so will allow OPPD to ensure we’re on track to meet our net-zero carbon emission goals by 2050 and quantify the greenhouse gas emissions reduction associated with innovative energy efficiency products and services we offer our customers.
