Senior management recommended to the board that the utility issue an RFP (Request for Proposal) for new utility-scale solar, modernized replacement and back-up natural gas.

Board approved senior management's proposal, authorizing OPPD management to negotiate and enter into procurement contracts, which will determine the exact size, scale and location of the generation assets.

After the November board meeting, the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) process began through Winter 2020.
