108th & Blondo to 123rd & Pacific
OPPD has a 161-kilovolt (161kv) transmission line that runs from North 108th and Blondo streets to South 123rd and Pacific streets in Omaha. This line was originally built in the 1950s, when this area was on the western edge of Omaha. Now, 70 years later, the landscape has changed significantly, and the line needs to be renovated in order to continue supplying critical energy to the area.
Given the continued load growth and economic development projects in our service territory as well as our commitment to reliability, OPPD will rebuild this line to meet modern standards. As part of this work, any older-style lattice towers will be replaced with modern steel monopoles. More information on this project can be found in this OPPD The Wire article.

While we understand that construction activities may be disruptive to our neighbors, we believe the new, smaller structures will significantly benefit the community in the long term. Although these new monopoles have a smaller footprint, some tree clearing will be necessary to ensure safety and reliability. All impacted landowners will be personally contacted during this first important step.
